唐山地處中國環渤海經濟圈中心位置，是一座具有百年歷史的沿海重工業城市，被譽為中國近代工業的搖籃。隨著中國鋼鐵產業的迅速發展，唐山鋼鐵順勢崛起，素有“世界鋼鐵看中國，中國鋼鐵看唐山”之美譽。唐山是中國，也是全球鋼鐵工業發展最集中的地區，全球最大的鋼鐵集散地和消費地之一。唐山擁有世界最大的鋼鐵產業集群，鋼鐵產量占世界的1/14,擁有唐鋼、首鋼等多家千萬噸級的大型鋼鐵企業，鐵礦石年進口量超過2億噸。隨著唐山鋼鐵產業向高端化，智能化，數字化的發展，唐山也聚集了眾多服務鋼鐵產業的技術、設備、環保、智能制造企業，唐山已經成為了名符其實的“世界鋼鐵之都”。
Located in the center of China Bohai Economic Circle, Tangshan is a century-old industrial city along the coast and is praised as the cradle of modern industry of China. With the rapid development of China Iron & Steel industry, the Tangshan Iron & Steel industry emerged by taking advantage of such opportunity, and gained the praise that “Observe China to Review World Iron & Steel Industry, Observe Tangshan to Review China Iron & Steel Industry”. Thangshan is the most centralized area of China and even of the world for development of iron & steel industry, and is the largest distribution and consuming area of iron & steel in the world. Tangshan possesses the largest iron & steel industrial cluster, and its production of iron & steel is one fourteenth of that of the world. There are a number of large-scale iron & steel companies with 10 million tons’ production capability including Tangshan Iron & Steel Group Co., Ltd., Shougang Group,etc., and the annual importing volume of iron ores is more than 200 million tons. With the development of Tangshan iron & steel industry to be high-end oriented, intelligent and digital, Tangshan has attracted a number of companies serving the iron & steel industry in aspects of technology, equipment, environment protection, intelligent manufacturing, etc., and Thangshan has virtually become the “Iron & Steel City of the World”.

中國（唐山）國際冶金工業博覽會在唐山如此雄厚的鋼鐵基礎之上應運而生，2018年第二屆鋼博會上，首鋼股份、河鋼唐鋼、韓國浦項、德龍鋼鐵、津西鋼鐵等來自全球的近千家展商積極參展，吸引了國內外近五千多家企業進行觀展及商務洽談。展會同期舉辦多場高峰論壇、技術交流活動，有關政府部門領導、行業專家和企業高級負責人受邀到會。
With solid iron & steel foundation of Tangshan, China (Tangshan) International Steel & Metallurgical Industry Expo emerged at the historic moment. During 2018 The Second Steel Expo, around 1,000 exhibitors joined the exhibition actively including Beijing Shougang Group, HBIS Group Tangsteel Co., Ltd., Pohang Iron & Steel Co., Ltd., Delong Iron&Steel Co., Ltd., Hebei Jinxi Iron&Steel Group, etc., and more than 5,000 companies were attracted to visit the exhibition and participate in the business communication. Several forums and technical communication activities were organized during the exhibition, wherein leaders of relevant government departments, industry experts and company senior managers were invited.
